This year's camp took place in L’Estartit, on the Spanish coast close to Barcelona. We were very happy to welcome 12 new campers.
We kicked off our busy program with gym test – a grueling series of trials designed to push the body to its absolute limit. Team games were hugely popular as always and everyone showed a great deal of enthusiasm from the off. Kominki were loud and energetic, with the new addition to the spiewnik, ‘Wonderwall’, going down a particular treat. The Druga Klasa hike took us to a nearby castle in extremely hot conditions, from which there were beautiful views over the coastline.
The annual Olimpiada was underpinned by good sportsmanship, and the same can be said of the cross-country race, which returned some impressive results in the heat. A lot of time was spent in the swimming pool cooling off and we also enjoyed a day out in Barcelona, where we visited the Sagrada Familia.
A fantastic rivalry grew between the campers and the leaders, which was displayed during the campers-leaders dwa ognie and football matches. Unfortunately for the campers, they were taught a footballing lesson, suffering a disappointing defeat.
Camp was thoroughly enjoyable and we look to welcoming back everyone next year, along with many new faces!
