Fiołki, the vocal group of Mazury, presents a moving recital of patriotic songs commemorating key anniversaries and honouring the Polish experience of exile and resilience.
This year, Fiołki will present a heartfelt recital of patriotic songs, many of which commemorate significant anniversaries in Polish history. The programme includes Marsz Sybiraków, recalling the first mass deportations of Poles from the Kresy to Siberian gulags in 1940; Marsz Lotników, a tribute to the Polish airmen who fought in the Battle of Britain in October 1940; and Polskie Kwiaty, a song long associated with the post-war Polish diaspora. These songs reflect moments in history that led to exile and displacement—experiences that echo the journeys of many ancestors of Mazury’s members who settled in the UK. This repertoire holds deep personal meaning for us.
Fiołki is the vocal ensemble of Mazury. In 2025, we celebrate our fifth anniversary. Since our formation in 2020, the group has grown in size, vocal range, and repertoire. Both Fiołki and Mazury are excited to perform at the Tydzień Kultury Beskidzkiej this summer.
